The CFP® exam is the comprehensive exam behind CFP® certification. Every question traces to CFP Board's Principal Knowledge Topics, grouped into eight domains: retirement savings and income planning (18%), investment planning (17%), general principles of financial planning (15%), tax planning (14%), risk management and insurance (11%), estate planning (10%), professional conduct and regulation (8%), and the psychology of financial planning (7%). Questions come as stand-alone items, short scenarios and longer case studies, so applying the rules to a client's facts matters as much as knowing them.
Our CFP® bank is weighted to those same percentages, and every question carries a full written explanation and a link to the study-guide unit that teaches it. The guide works through the calculations the exam expects — time value of money, retirement funding, tax and insurance needs — and your readiness score tracks each domain, so you can see where the next hour of study pays off most.

When can I take the CFP® exam?
CFP Board offers the exam three times a year, in March, July and November, at test centers or by remote proctoring. Check CFP Board for the current testing windows and deadlines.
Is there a prerequisite for the CFP® exam?
Yes. You must complete CFP Board's education coursework requirement, and CFP Board must verify it by the Education Verification Deadline, before you can sit the exam.
Does this course satisfy CFP Board's education requirement?
No. The Passing Rate CFP® course is exam preparation only. It is not a CFP Board Registered Program and does not count toward CFP Board's education requirement, which is met with college-level coursework through a CFP Board Registered Program (certain degrees and credentials qualify for an accelerated path). Use this course to prepare for the exam itself.
